Sports News

Federer is out! This is now the major talking point of the US Open now. That Federer is out! Many people are now questioning if Federer will ever win another grand slam. Or if he will retire. But Federer says no! Federer claims he's just lacking consistency and that he just needs time to get back his form. Personally, I believe Federer is just going through a slump, and he will be back on track very soon. But Fed, the clock is ticking.

Also, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Youzhney, Ferrer, Gasquet, Wawrinka, and Tommy Robredo have all advanced to the Quarters. Meanwhile in the women's draw, Li Na has pulled through to the semis. She will face Serena Williams after she crushed Carla Suarez Navarro 6-0 6-0. In the first set Williams won 24 out of a total of 29 points. Also Victoria Azarenka has beat Daniela Hantuchova 6-2 6-3 to pull through to the semi-finals. She will face Flavia Penneta in the semis after she beat Roberta Vinci 6-4 6-1. Thank you and I will be back soon with another update on the US Open.

The transfer window has closed! Big signings on deadline day included Mesut Ozil and Marouane Fellaini. Arsenal signed Ozil for 42.5 million pounds (50 million euros) and smashed their transfer record of 17 million pounds. And the grand total added up to be a whooping 630 million pounds!! Which smashed their old transfer record of 500 million set back in 2008. Some major signings this summer included Andre Shürrle for 17 million to Chelsea, Roberto Soldado for 26 million to Tottenham, Willian to Chelsea for 30 million, Eto'o to Chelsea for 10 million, Marouanne Fellaini to Man U for 27.5 million, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel to Norwich for 8 million, Wilfred Bony to Swansea for 12 million, and no doubt about the biggest transfer of the summer. Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a record fee of 86 million pounds! Which smashes the record of 80 million set back in 2009 for Cristiano Ronaldo.

I hope you enjoyed reading my sports news, and I will be back in the next week with another update.
