Hello, today I'm talking about the latest on the 2013 US Open.
First, Serena Williams has defeated Victoria Azarenka 7-5 6-7 (6) 6-2. This is her fifth US open title and her second in a row. Serena had dropped just 16 games the entire tournament so far. So far no one could even come close to defeating her. But Azarenka who's defeated her in the 2 times in their last 3 meetings may have the answer. It didn't look that way when Serena Williams broke soon. But last years a finalist broke back soon. Eventually the set reached 5-5. Serena broke in the eleventh game to serve for the set. She eventually served out the set 7-5. Serena carried that momentum into the second set breaking Azarenka in the first game. Though Azarenka broke back. Serena had the chance to serve out the match at 5-4. But she slipped up and Azarenka broke. She was granted another chance 6-5 but again Azarenka broke. Eventually the match went info a tiebreak which Azarenka won 8-6. In the third set it was all Williams. Strong from start to finish. She breezed past Azarenka 6-2 to claim her fifth US Open title. Azarenka was in tears.
Also, Rafael Nadal has won his second US Open title after he defeated Novak Djokovic 6-2 3-6 6-4
6-1. The 2010 champion breezed past the first set breaking very soon to take the set 6-2. However, in the second set Djokovic broke at 2-2 and held his serve to take a 4-2 lead. But Nadal broke back in the seventh game to get to 4-3. But in his very next service game Djokovic broke to win the set 6-3. But in the next two sets it was all Nadal. Nadal broke very soon and just exchanged service games to eventually win the set. And in the final set Nadal was even better. He broke twice to seal the set and match 6-1.
